Storytelling
What is storytelling?
Storytelling is not story reading. It is the art of oral storytelling that uses voice, expression, and body movements to convey a story. It is a tradition that has been passed down over centuries.
What stories do you tell?
I tell mainly folktales. I share stories from cultures around the world. The stories have humor, drama, and wisdom.
Why is storytelling important?
Storytelling makes people happy! It is engaging and entertaining. Listening to oral storytelling improves imagination, listening skills and literacy skills. Life lessons are taught along the way.
Who is your audience?
Most of the groups I tell stories to are elementary school-aged children. I have told stories to groups of just a few people and to large groups of over 100 people. I can tell stories in schools, in libraries, at camps and in many other group settings. Please contact me so we can discuss your group and your needs.
Where are you located?
I serve the Denver area but I’d be happy to tell in other areas.
