Early Literacy Tutoring
What is Early Literacy?
Early literacy is the groundwork for reading. There are many skills a child needs before they become readers. I work on a variety of these skills, including phonological awareness, letter knowledge, narrative skills, print awareness, print motivation and vocabulary. As your child develops skills, I work on phonics, reading comprehension, writing and more advanced skills.
Will you teach my child how to read?
I will work with your child on skills they need to get ready to read. I can’t guarantee any timeline for reading. Each child is different. Just like some children learn to walk at 10 months and others learn to walk at 18 months, children have different timelines for reading. I can assure you that your child will receive a strong foundation for reading. Once your child has started reading, I will work with them to improve their skills and encourage further reading.
What ages do you work with?
Most of the children I work with are 4-6 years old. However each child is different and I will work with younger or older children depending on the circumstances.
Where do you teach?
I offer the convenience of coming to your home. I serve families in Denver, Greenwood Village, Centennial, Aurora and Parker, Colorado.
How do you schedule your lessons?
Lessons are scheduled in six week series. A lesson is one hour long. We work together to find a time and day that works for both of us.
If you’d like to have siblings or friends share the time, we can work that out.
How does payment work?
The series total is $360.00. The fee for each one hour lesson is $60.00. You can pay with Venmo, check, or cash.
